Held on August 26th and 27th of each year to commemorate the anniversary of the promulgation of the Kenyan constitution, which took place on August 27, 2010, Uwazi Festival is a dynamic two-day festival curated to provide a rich learning, networking, and showcase experience for social justice actors, public policy analysts, performing poets, visual artists, musicians, and state officers.
Through a blend of online and offline activities, the festival leverages visual and performing arts, dialogue forums, social media, and community outreach to engage young Kenyans from Nakuru County on key issues, including the Kenya Constitution 2010, the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP), democracy, human rights, and gender equality.
The festival served as a powerful reminder of the country’s commitment to democratic principles and the foundation of our rule of law.
