Uwazi Mashinani promotes an enabling environment for issue-based, transparent and inclusive youth participation in governance. By strengthening youth-led community hubs, advancing social accountability, leveraging civic technology and supporting citizen-led advocacy, the project empowers communities to monitor public resources, combat corruption and influence responsive governance at the grassroots.
Knowledge to Action
Knowledge to Action strengthens youth civic agency by creating safe and inclusive spaces where young people can learn, organize and lead collective action. Through creative expression, digital engagement, civic leadership and community dialogue, the project equips young people to shape public discourse, influence governance processes and contribute to a more inclusive, accountable and democratic society.
Uwazi Festival
Held on 26th and 27th August each year to commemorate the promulgation of the Constitution of Kenya (2010), Uwazi Festival is a dynamic two-day social impact arts festival curated to provide a rich learning, networking and showcase experience for social justice actors, public policy analysts, performing poets, visual artists, musicians and public institutions.
Through a blend of online and offline activities, the festival leverages visual and performing arts, dialogue forums, digital media and community outreach to engage young people from Nakuru County on key issues including including the Kenya Constitution 2010, the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP), democracy, human rights, and gender equality inspiring collective action towards a more just and inclusive society.
Ubuntu Creative Space
Domiciled at the TribelessYouth offices in Nakuru, Ubuntu Creative Space is a collaborative co-working and networking space, capacity-building and training centre, research and innovation hub, and online-to-offline platform for learning, dialogue and creative exchange.
The space empowers young people to shape Kenya's political, social and economic future through art, storytelling, activism and digital innovation. By amplifying lived experiences and creative expression, Ubuntu Creative Space transforms ideas into action, bringing community voices into public dialogue, policy conversations and social change.
